Thanksgiving Celebration with Momma Cherri
Brighton's inimitable Momma Cherri will be rattling the pots and pans for a Soul Shack takeover of Meanwhile Mondays in November. You’ll be enjoying an epic menu of US Thanksgiving dishes and Deep South soul food, served on communal tables to encourage the fellowship of this traditional dinner.
Nanima Asian Kitchen
Nanima Asian Kitchen is a genuine family-run, local neighbourhood independent café/restaurant, and the team are excited to bring their Asian cuisine to Meanwhile Mondays.
For this special event, Nicky will be presenting a variety of dishes from diverse culinary traditions as examples of some of the many goodies on offer at Nanima Asian Kitchen via their daily-changing menu.’
Youjuice
“Nothing added. Nothing taken away” is the mantra of chef Anita Drozd of Youjuice, located on Brunswick Street East in Hove. Producing cold press juice from her ‘garage’ kitchen and café, Anita and her team also offer a menu of wholesome soups, superfood salads, fermented foods and raw sweet treats and has gained a huge following over the years for those looking for healthy, nutritious and seriously tasty food.
For Meanwhile Mondays on Monday 25 September, Anita is serving up a mainly vegan menu of dishes showcasing the very best of what is on offer at the café. She is joined in the kitchen by long-time colleagues chefs Jeremy and Vera Ashpool, formerly of the acclaimed Jeremy’s Restaurant in Borde Hill, for what promises to be a memorable evening of food and friends.
Pulpo Negro at Meanwhile
Chef Andres Alemany from Pulpo Negro will be joining our own Chef Ian Aungier in the Meanwhile kitchen on the 7th August as part of our Meanwhile Mondays series.
Serving cuisine from all corners of the Spanish peninsula, using the finest Spanish and British ingredients, prepared with love, cooked with passion and served with confidence.
Pulpo Negro are proud to have been a Michelin bib gourmand since 2014.
Frozen Supper with chefs Seb Cole (Boho Gelato), & Ian Aungier (Meanwhile)
Ice cream maestro Seb Cole of Boho Gelato is teaming up with our very own Head Chef, Ian Aungier for a creative frozen supper. Seb is a well-known face on the Sussex food scene having opened up his own ice cream store in Pool Valley back in 2010. He has a passion for using local producers and suppliers wherever possible. Chef Simon Mckenzie
The first guest chef on the evening of Monday 3 April is Simon Mckenzie who’s spent the past 30 years working in leading restaurant and hotel kitchens across the UK including Relais and Chateaux Vineyard at Stockcross, Limewood Hotel in the New Forest and Old Government House in Guernsey.
